Do Not Sleep during Magrhib Time (Before and After Sunset)
Description:
In some parts of Indonesia, it is believed that sleeping
during Maghrib (the time just before or after sunset) can
bring bad luck, attract spirits, or cause misfortune. People
believe it's better to stay awake and avoid sleeping at this
time.
Irrational Reason:
During Maghrib, evil spirits, including Satan, are said to be
more active or roaming around. People who sleep at this time
are believed to be vulnerable to these spirits, who might
"sit" on them or cause harm.
Rational Reason:
One rational explanation behind the superstition is that
sleeping during Maghrib may disrupt with the Maghrib prayer,
which is considered a vital spiritual practice. When people
sleep during this time, they might miss the prayer or perform
it late.
